About Friday's Rescue Foundation:
Our Story In early 2013, a few good people took a trip down south to pick up 1 rescue dog that was located on the internet. That night those same people ended up taking 6 dogs home. Can anyone really be prepared for the conditions of a shelter with limited funding and few regulations? If you’re a â€dog person†you have seen and heard of the deplorable conditions that are common in dog shelters in the south. However nothing compares to seeing it first hand. Over the course of the next few months a kennel was purchased, a nonprofit organization was born and a team of people all formed what is now known as â€Fridays Rescue Foundation†in Groton, Connecticut. At the cornerstone of our foundation is a hospice program. Many of the dogs we rescue are old, injured, abused and sick. We provide medical care medication and the most nutritious food possible to help these â€under dogs†get back on their feet. We recognize that it takes very special and dedicated people to love and care for these dogs and we are fortunate to have an abundance of support. Adoptions are what keep us moving and make us able to rescue more and more dogs. In the past year and a half we have been able to adopt out over 200 dogs. We look for exceptional homes and take the placement of the animals in our care very seriously because we know first hand what they have been through. As we grow, we are finding our way in the world of animal rescue. We are blessed to have a core of deeply passionate employees that work on our team. One dog at a time†we press on.
